Algemene informatie over Voetblad, Indische alruinwortel (Podophyllum):
De naam Voetblad wordt gebruikt voor planten uit meerdere geslachten, waaronder Podophyllum. Voetblad is een langzaam groeiende, sterke vaste plant voor de (half)schaduw op liefst vochtige grond. Sommige soorten Voetblad hebben mooi gemarmerd, gespikkeld, soms bobbelig blad. Na de bloei groeien aan Voetblad appelvormige vruchten onder het blad. Als buurplanten zijn bijv. Mansoor (Asarum), Tongvaren (Asplenium), Lelietje-van-dalen (Convallaria), Grote veldbies (Luzula) en Bolprimula (Primula) te gebruiken.
